Group study areas
What you need to know before booking a room

The Library provides 6 Group Study Rooms in the Information Commons on level 2 and the 7th is the Group Presentation Roomequipped with a data projector & screen for students to practice their presentations. There are 2 more Group Study Rooms in the Commerce Faculty area on level 3.

Rooms may be booked by Rhodes University undergraduate students only. They are not available for individual study, teaching or for University meetings.

You are entitled to make one booking lasting up to 2 hours per group, per day.

A group must consist of at least 3 or more people.

You can book up to 8 days in advance.

If the room is not occupied within 30 minutes of the start of a booking it may be rebooked to another group

If you are having difficulty using the booking system, ask assistance at the Information Commons Hub.
Using the room

To use the room simply find the room at the allotted time. We advise bringing confirmation email with you as proof of booking.

Please do not leave personal belongings in the rooms.

Rooms should be cleared 5 minutes prior to the end of the booking period.

Whiteboard pens and erasers are available at Information Commons Hub to be used while you are in the room. Leave your student card to the IC navigator/student assistant and you will get it back when returning whiteboard markers and an eraser.

The person booking the room will be responsible for the room.

Furniture should not be moved in or out of the room.
