Give 5 2015

The 2015 give5 week commenced on the 2nd March and ended on the 6th March. Through the efforts of the give5 committee, Senior Students, Community Engagement Reps and also different Societies R72 145.50 was raised in the one week of collection – Congratulation to you all for this excellent result – A lot of hard work was put in but through your efforts – you will be sponsoring 36 students who will be on the Pocket Money Fund next year.  2015 has seen the need for give5 to continue beyond the one week collection and students have been requested to carry on fundraising throughout the year.  The amount raised so far has risen to over R75 000.00, but we still need more to support all the of students who apply for the Pocket Money Fund.

The results were VERY close and Botha House was just beaten by some serious Fire Walker Fundraisers at Dingemans!!  Firewalk YouTube:  Well done to Botha and Jameson House for all of your hard work.

Congratulations to Dingemans for winning the Flat Screen TV (Sponsored by Pick N Pay, Grahamstown) and Hobson Hall receives the give5 Trophy AND a Fresh Water Tank ( sponsored by BUCO). Hobson Hall raised over R10 000.00 and really do deserve applause.  Congratulations also to Founders and St Mary’s for all of your enthusiastic fundraising and hard work – a lot of money was raised through the two Halls.

 Dingmans TV

Every single Residence participated which is indicative of the type of student that we have at Rhodes University – thank you so much for participating, we could not have raised the R72 000.00 without everybody  – please remember to keep on fundraising for give5 throughout the year, so that we can increase the amount to help more students.

A special thank you to our Societies who also participated (there will be a give5 Societies Trophy) handed out at the end of the year.  ZuluSoc is winning at the moment!

Please remember to drop off any extra deodorants, soaps, shampoos and all other essentials that you might have extra at Alumni House or the SRC Office.
