Thesis title: Are invasive grasses (Poaceae) suitable targets for classical weed biological control: a case-study of two African grasses (Sporobolus spp.) invading Australia

Guy is a PhD candidate at the Center for Biological Control (Rhodes University). Guy’s thesis explores the potential of biological control as a suitable management strategy for invasive grasses using two African grasses (Sporobolus pyramidalis and S. natalensis, Giant rat’s tail grasses) that are highly invasive in Australia as model species. Guy’s major research interest lays in improving the safety and efficacy of weed biological control by integrating “putting more ecology into biological control”.
