Trevor Amos is a senior lecturer and Heads the Department of Management at Rhodes University, responsible for teaching Human Resource Management at the undergraduate and post-graduate level. He also teaches Leadership and People Management on the MBA and Management Development Programmes and supervises at the post-graduate level. He has experience as an external examiner/moderator at the undergraduate and post-graduate level. He is a recipient of the Vice Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award.
His research interests are in the areas of Leadership, Organisation Development, Teaching and Learning, and Entrepreneurship. He has a Bachelor of Social Science degree, Honours degrees in both Economics and Psychology, and a Master’s degree in Research Psychology from Rhodes University. Before joining Rhodes University, he gained experience in the areas of human resources assessment, staff selection, human resource development, and organisation development. He is registered with the South African Board for Personnel Practice as a Chartered HR Practitioner and has presented a number of research papers at both local and international conferences and had articles published in accredited local and international journals as well as in books.
Besides a Human Resource Management electronic book, he has also co-authored three editions of a Human Resource Management textbook, three editions of a General Management textbook and contributed a chapter on Strategic Leadership to two editions of a Strategic Management textbook.
