Dr Charles Young has won a scholarship to attend a three-day workshop in cognitive psychotherapy for faculty and students at the Beck Institute in Philadelphia. The Beck Institute for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, a non-profit organisation, is an international Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) training and resource centre. The Beck Institute Scholarship Competition received more than 600 entries from around the world. The organisers found it too difficult to limit the competition winners to only ten students and faculty, as promised. The list of winners was then expanded to 16, of which Dr Young is one. The participants will learn the fundamentals of cognitive behaviour therapy through an experiential workshop under the direction of Judith S. Beck, PhD, from 13 – 15 August 2012.
