The Neil Aggett Labour Studies Unit (NALSU) at Rhodes University, Makhanda, welcomes the measures being put in place by civil society and the state to contain the  spread of COVID-19, but joins other analysts insisting that a more robust set of measures is needed to cushion the working class, poor and vulnerable employers. We have endorsed, therefore, the call by the Institute for Economic Justice, affiliated the  University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, below:
