Welcome, to our incoming students, and welcome back to those who are returning,
As the first month of 2016 is slowly but surely reaching its mid-point, it is time to start thinking about the new academic year; the opportunities that it may bring and the challenges that will inevitably cross our paths as students and as staff. My wish is that challenges be turned into opportunities, and we make 2016 a year of academic success. This will require commitment and hard work, from both students and staff, for which we are ready and I hope you are too.
The successful functioning of our constitutional democracy and the delivery of social justice in accordance with the promise of the Constitution depend upon a healthy legal community. In 2016, let us make our contribution to building that healthy community for a better future by being academically productive, by learning and teaching, through the exchange of ideas and confronting difficult and uncomfortable challenges to turn them into opportunities for growth.
