It is with deep regret that the President and Vice-President of our Student Representative Council, Mr Sisesakhe Ntlabezo and Mr Ligwa Sizwe Dlomo, respectively, had to tender their resignations due to personal circumstances. The powerful and inspiring welcome address by Mr Ntlabezo on the occasion of welcoming our new students on Sunday, 07 February 2016, will remain a source of great inspiration to these students for years to come. In a very special way, through his speech, Mr Ntlabezo amply demonstrated that Rhodes University is indeed a university which educates leaders and one in which learners lead. On behalf of the entire Rhodes University community, I wish to extend our gratitude and appreciation to both of them for serving our student body. We wish them well in their future endeavours.
We are delighted that, following the standing down of the President and the Vice-President, the Independent Electoral Board (IEB) followed due process as prescribed by the Constitution of the Students to fill the vacancies. The new SRC for 2016 is as follows:

They enjoy our unqualified support and confidence.
