Rod has approximately 32 years of educational and lecturing experience in Higher Education. From 1988 to 1996 he taught English and English Methodology to aspirant teachers at Dower College of Education. Furthermore, he facilitated training modules for middle managers at the Masters Builders Association. From 2002 he lectured at Nelson Mandela University and was appointed as Academic Literacies Coordinator from 2008 to 2011. In addition, Rod lectured English Literature and Professional Communications in the Department of Linguistics from 2003 until 2021. Finally, he has written NCS curriculum training materials for the Department of Education (EC) and was a Training of Trainers instructor for the Imbewu 2 Project EC.
