Odifentse Lehasa won 1st place at the University of Johannesburg Three Minute Thesis (3MT) 2023 competition, hosted by the Research Capacity Development (RCD) Postgraduate School (PGS). Developed by the University of Queensland in 208, the 3MT enabled PhD students to succinctly and effectively communicate their research to an intelligent but non-specialist audience in only three minutes.
“It is an exciting platform that celebrates succinct and exciting research presentations. In just three minutes, you have an opportunity to showcase your research, captivate the audience, and demonstrate the significance of your work. The competition is a thrilling journey where researchers like you have a chance to decipher complex ideas into comprehensible and captivating presentations. It is a test of your ability to communicate the substance of your research, its impact, and its relevance to a diverse audience.” - UJ Director of Postgraduate School, Prof Annah Moteetee.
