Dr. Fortunate Gunzo

Dr Fortunate Gunzo is the Director of the Centre for Social Development. She joined the CSD on 1 June 2022 from within the Faculty of Education at Rhodes University. Before joining the CSD, Fortunate managed the Professional Development Centre (PDC) for 13 years. The PDC was an externally funded entity within the Faculty of Education focusing on offering part time accredited qualifications to in-service educators. Fortunate studied at the University of Fort Hare in Alice where she got her triple major Social Science degree in Communication, Sociology and Psychology as well as a Social Science Honours degree. She obtained her Master of Education degree and her PhD from Rhodes University.
