Every year, Rhodes University Community Engagement hosts an awards evening to celebrate the accomplishments, dedication and love shown by everyone in the sector.

The Annual Community Engagement Awards recognise a year of excellence in Makhanda. It provides an opportunity for us all to acknowledge and share and reaffirm our the pride we take in brightening the corners where we are. The Awards are an important part of reaffirming the student leaders and volunteer managers of our programmes, all of whom go above and beyond their calls of duty throughout the year to ensure the best possible experience for everyone involved in the project.

The Finalists for Awards in five categories, as well as University management are invited to a small ceremony held towards the end of each year. The event brings together volunteers and student leaders from across our citizenship programmes, as well as early engaged researchers and the community partners who make it all possible.
