Prof Brendan Wilhelmi is a Biochemistry professor in the department. He's research interests include biochemical markers using molecular and analytical techniques in the following research projects:
- The biology of soilless plant growth systems using a meta-barcoding and metabolomic approach to understanding the role of the microbiome in the health of plants and fish in these systems.
- DNA barcoding for species identification.
