Jonathan Okewu is an academic staff at the Federal University Lafia in Nigeria and holds a PhD in ceramic art. He has participated in various group exhibitions and competed in different art competitions organised by both governmental and non-governmental bodies where he has won several awards. At the 12th Life in My City Art Festival (LIMCAF) held in Enugu, 22nd – 27th October, 2018 he received the Rele Gallery young contemporary residency, the Justice Anthony Aniagolu Prize for Originality, and an all-paid expense trip to Dakart in Senegal. He is also a recipient of the 2017 TETFund grant in lieu of institutional based research project titled “A Simple and Effective Two-tier Filtration Nano-Silver Ceramic Pot System for Treating Water of Various Sources in Some Nigerian Communities. Dr. Okewu Jonathan has published both nationally and internally in peer reviewed journals. He has a book to his credit titled: “Cast Iron Filings and Clay", published by LAP LAMBERT Academic Publishing, Saarbrücken, Germany.
