Research and Teaching Interests

Research interests are on Linguistics Theory, Sociolinguistic and Second Language Teaching. Particularly interested in matters pertaining to IsiXhosa Phonetics, Phonology and Orthography.

• An executive board member of the Institute for the Study of English in Africa.
• A member of the African Languages Association of South Africa.

Academic Awards and achievements

• Hold a Turning the Tides Mellon Scholarship at Rhodes University 2019 – 2023
• Been the Head of the African Language Studies from 2005 – July 2020.
